Doublecutaway
S K U L L & R O S E S
in progress

Using my Arcadia doublecutaway design as the platform, I've created this fully-contoured, semi-hollow beast with a tasteful and stylish edge. These most current photos display the progress of the guitar during the finishing process. There are still numerous applications of Tru-oil and much hand-rubbing to go before final assembly and set-up.

After doing the original drawing, I knew this was a guitar that needed to exist in the here and now. The relief applique is fully handcarved in maple, dyed, and permanently inlaid into the maple top. The black lines terminated by my whacked scrolls are inlaid ebony.

The walnut neck will be much darker once finish has been applied. The headstock logo in progress is a carved maple applique of my "J" and a spray of roses set into the wood, much like the skull and roses applique.
The basic specs are listed below. A more comprehensive list will accompany the final photos of this elegantly dark guitar that I'll be posting soon.
